Three Ways to Screen French Doors
Which one fits depends on how your doors open and how you use them.
Retractable French set
Two Roll-A-Way screens, one on each side of the opening, that meet in the middle. Each one rolls out of sight on its own, so the doorway looks the way it did before. $1,299 installed, in five colors.
If your size and color are in stock, we install the same day we measure. If not, we order the set and come back when it arrives.
Pair of swinging screen doors
Two hinged screen doors on the outside of the opening. They suit French doors that open inward, close on their own, and take pet-resistant mesh or a pet door. Pairs are quoted when we measure.
We measure, then your door arrives in about a week and we install it.
Sliding screen door
Some patio doors look like French doors but one panel slides in a track. Those take a regular sliding screen door: new from $329, or $95 to rescreen the one you have, built and installed in one visit.

Can you put a screen on French doors?
Yes. Most French doors take a Roll-A-Way retractable French set ($1,299 installed), and doors that open inward can also take a pair of swinging screen doors. French-style sliding patio doors take a regular sliding screen door.
Do both sides of a retractable French set open?
Yes. Each screen rolls out from its own side and they meet in the middle. Use one side or both, depending on how much of the opening you want screened.
My French doors open outward. Can I still get a screen?
Usually a retractable French set is the answer, because it mounts out of the way of the doors' swing. We check how it mounts at the free measure, before you order.
Which option is best with a dog?
A pair of swinging screen doors with pet-resistant mesh, or with a pet door in one of them. Retractable screens use a lighter mesh that isn't made for big dogs pushing on it.
Do you work on the glass doors themselves?
No, we don't work with glass. We fit screens in front of or behind your French doors.
